“Ferrero Değerli Tarım” Programı 10 Yılda 50 Bin Fındık Üreticisine Ulaştı

Ferrero Fındık, sorumlu ve sürdürülebilir bir değer zinciri için aktif olarak yürüttüğü “Ferrero Değerli Tarım” programıyla, 100 bin hektar alanda 50 bin fındık üreticisine ulaştı.

Ferrero Fındık, kaliteli ve sürdürülebilir fındığın gelişimi için değer zincirinin sürekli iyileşmesine odaklanmaya devam ediyor. Ferrero Fındık’ın “herkes için değer yaratan bir fındık sektörü” hedefiyle yürüttüğü Ferrero Değerli Tarım sürdürülebilirlik programı, 10’uncu yılında Sakarya, Düzce, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun ve Trabzon’da toplam 50 bin fındık üreticisine ulaştı. 100’ü aşkın Ferrero Değerli Tarım zirai ve sosyal uzmanının ekimden hasada kadar İnsan Hakları ve Sosyal Uygulamalar, Çevrenin Korunması ve Sürdürülebilirlik, Tedarikçi Şeffaflığı başlıklarında eğitim, sahada danışmanlık ve sürekli bilgi desteği sağladığı fındık üreticileri, toplam 100 bin hektar alanda iyi tarım ve sosyal uygulamalarla üretim yapma imkanına kavuştu.

Ferrero Fındık Genel Müdürü Bamsi Akın, fındık üreticilerinin ve ilgili topluluklarının kalkınması, işçi ve çocuk haklarının korunması, onarıcı tarım uygulamaları yoluyla çevresel değerlerin geliştirilmesi amacıyla kararlılıkla çalıştıklarını belirterek, “Ferrero Fındık olarak değer zincirimizi uzun vadeli bir bakış açısıyla oluşturuyor ve sürekli geliştiriyoruz. Sivil toplum kuruluşları, fındık üreticileri ve değer zincirinin diğer ilgili tüm paydaşlarıyla iş birlikleri geliştirip, fındık sektörünün gelişimi için ortak hareket ediyoruz. Ferrero Değerli Tarım Programımızın 10’uncu yılında, Ferrero Fındık Bildirgesi ile duyurduğumuz taahhütlerimizi gerçekleştirme yolunda önemli adımlar attık” diye konuştu.

Model bahçelerde kalite yaklaşık yüzde 60 arttı

Program kapsamında Ferrero Değerli Tarım zirai uzmanları, yıl boyunca sahada verdikleri eğitim ve danışmanlıklarla, toprak ve yaprak analiziyle bitki besin ihtiyacına göre gübreleme, su kullanımının optimize edilmesi, zararlı ve hastalıklarla mücadele, doğru budama yöntemleri gibi iyi tarım uygulamalarını fındık üreticilerine aktarıyor. 2017 yılından itibaren Karadeniz geneline yayılmış 53 model bahçede gerçekleştirilen etkinliği kanıtlanmış iyi tarım uygulamaları ile fındık kalitesinde bugüne kadar yaklaşık yüzde 60 artış gözlendi.

10 yılda 21 binden fazla çocuğa ulaşıldı

Çocukların mutlu büyümesi ve korunması ile fındık üreticisi toplulukların dayanıklılığının artırılmasına odaklanan Ferrero, Avrupa Çikolata, Bisküvi ve Şekerleme Sanayileri Birliği (CAOBISCO) ve özel iş birliği kapsamında Uluslararası Çalışma Örgütü (ILO) ile Türkiye’de fındık hasadında çocuk işçiliğinin önlenmesine yönelik çalışmalar yapmaya devam ediyor. Ferrero Değerli Tarım programı kapsamında ise Giresun Üniversitesi, TEGV, Her Yerde Sanat Derneği, yerel yönetimler, fındık tarım aracıları (dayıbaşı) ve fındık üreticileriyle ortak çalışmalar yürütülüyor. Bu kapsamda gerçekleştirilen tüm projeler ile 10 yılda 21 bini aşkın çocuğa ve 9 bine yakın aileye ulaşıldı.

Bahçeden fabrikaya izlenebilirlik

Tedarik ettiği fındıkların bahçeden fabrikaya kadar olan süreçte tam izlenebilir olmasını hedefleyen Ferrero, Ferrero Değerli Tarım programı kapsamında tedarikçi şeffaflığına da odaklanıyor. Fındığın kaynağına kadar izini sürmenin önemli olduğunun bilinciyle tamamen şeffaf bir tedarik zincirine ulaşma hedefiyle çalışmalarını sürdürüyor. Bu doğrultuda ana tedarikçileriyle “İnsan Hakları ve Sosyal Uygulamalar, Çevre ve Sürdürülebilirlik ve Tedarikçi Şeffaflığı” taahhütlerini içeren sözleşmeler yapıyor. Ferrero Fındık’ın ana tedarikçileri bu sözleşme kapsamında kendi alt tedarik zincirlerinde taahhütlerinin sağlanması için çalışmalar yürütüyor.
