Buğday Ekolojik Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği’nin Zehirsiz Kentlere Doğru projesi kapsamında, Zehirsiz Sofralar Platformu iş birliği ile düzenlenecek “Otlarla Mücadele” webinarı, 25 Nisan 2022 Pazartesi günü saat 10.30’da çevrimiçi olarak gerçekleşecek. Webinarda, kentsel alanlarda ot zehirlerinin yerine kullanılabilecek ekolojik ve doğa dostu mücadele yöntemleri anlatılacak. 

Buğday Ekolojik Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği’nin Zehirsiz Sofralar Platformu iş birliği ile yürüttüğü Zehirsiz Kentlere Doğru projesi kapsamında, “Otlarla Mücadele” başlıklı bir webinar düzenlenecek. Zoom platformu üzerinden çevrimiçi olarak 25 Nisan 2022 Pazartesi günü, 10.30 – 12.00 saatleri arasında gerçekleşecek olan webinarda; park ve bahçeler, yol kenarları, kaldırımlar, mezarlıklar, okullar, spor sahaları gibi kentsel alanlardaki ot mücadelesinde yaygın olarak kullanılan herbisitlere (ot zehiri) alternatif olan ekolojik ve doğa dostu yöntemler üzerine konuşulacak. 

Çanakkale Belediyesi ve Iğdır Üniversitesi’nden uzmanların katılımıyla gerçekleşecek webinarın moderatörlüğünü ve açılış konuşmasını Zehirsiz Sofralar Platformu Koordinatörü ve Buğday Derneği Genel Müdürü Batur Şehirlioğlu yapacak.

Buğday Derneği’nin YouTube sayfasından canlı olarak yayınlanacak etkinlik, tüm belediye yetkililerinin ve halkın katılımına açık olacak. Zoom platformu üzerinden katılım için ise bit.ly/otmucadelesi bağlantısından kayıt oluşturmak gerekiyor.

Sağlıklı bir gelecek için Zehirsiz Kentler

Yapılan araştırmalara göre, kentsel alanlarda kullanılan pestisitler, tarım alanlarında olduğundan daha yoğun bir biçimde yeraltı sularına karışıyor. Püskürtülen pestisitlerin %98’den fazlası ve herbisitlerin ise %95’i, kullanılan alan dışındaki hava, su ve toprak gibi ortamlara dağılıyor ve hedef olmayan canlı türlerine bulaşıyor. Türkiye’de içme suyu arıtma tesislerine ulaşan sularda saptanan 49 mikrokirleticinin 33’ünün pestisit olduğu ortaya çıktı.

Pestisitler ve aynı etken maddeye sahip olan biyosidal ürünler, hormon sistemini ve sinir sistemini olumsuz yönde etkiliyor; cinsiyet gelişimi bozuklukları, cinsiyetsiz doğumlar, doğum anomalileri, sperm sayılarında azalma gibi üreme sistemi sorunlarına ve prostat, pankreas, akciğer gibi kanser türlerine sebep oluyor. Özellikle bebekler ve çocuklar, hormonal sistem bozucu pestisitlerden daha fazla etkileniyor.

Buğday Ekolojik Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği’nin, Avrupa Birliği tarafından Sivil Toplum Diyaloğu VI kapsamında desteklenen, Avrupa Pestisit Eylem Ağı ortaklığı ve Zehirsiz Sofralar Platformu iş birliği ile yürüttüğü Zehirsiz Kentlere Doğru projesi kapsamında sağlıklı bir gelecek için bir araya gelen sivil toplum örgütleri ve inisiyatifler, kentlerde yerel yönetimler tarafından kullanılan pestisitlerin/biyosidal ürünlerin zararları konusunda farkındalık yaratmayı ve alternatif uygulamaların kullanımını teşvik etmeyi amaçlıyor. 

Zehirsiz Sofralar Platformu tarafından başlatılan Zehirsiz Kentler Kampanyası (Change.org/ZehirsizKentler) ile, belediyelerden zehirsiz kent olma yolunda kararlı bir adım atarak; en geç 2025 yılına kadar herbisit kullanımının tamamen sonlandırılmasına, 2030 yılına kadar diğer tüm pestisit ve biyosidal ürün kullanımının %50 azaltılmasına ve 2040 yılına kadar da tüm bu ürünlerin kullanımının tamamen sonlandırılmasına dair taahhütte bulunmaları ve bu kapsamda katılımcı bir stratejik eylem planı oluşturmaları talep ediliyor.
